For sale is a rare 1979 Dodge Magnum, manufactured by Chrysler in Brazil. Produced exclusively for the Brazilian market between 1978 and 1981, only a little over 2,000 units were made. Based on the 1969 Dodge Dart from the U.S. and built on the A-Body platform, the Brazilian Dodge Magnum features a distinctive front end designed by the renowned designer Celso Lamas, who created a fiberglass front for the car.

In addition to the unique front design, the Magnum was adorned with various external details such as a vinyl divided roof, side windows with trim, body-side moldings, and decorative stripes. Inside, the Magnum featured a finer and more delicate finish, with high-quality fabric that made the car one of the most luxurious models in the Brazilian market at the time. The interior design was based on the U.S. Dodge Dart SE (Special Edition).

The Magnum also featured distinctive rear tail lights taken from the 1974 American Dodge Dart. Powered by a V8-318 engine, the Magnum could be equipped with either the common 3-speed automatic transmission or the highly sought-after 4-speed manual transmission, which is equipped in this model.

Another exclusivity of this model was its aluminum alloy wheels, available only on the Magnum. Additionally, the brakes were improved compared to the classic American Dodges, and the car boasted a large 107L (or 29.7 gallons) fuel tank—unique to the Brazilian version due to gas stations closing at certain times of the day, increasing the car’s range.
